Software Development Expert

We're looking for a skilled Software Development Expert to join our team. As a key member of our robotics department, you will play a crucial role in the development of our cutting-edge companion robot, Abi.
About the RoleIn this position, you will be responsible for designing and implementing the core software that enables Abi to think, move, and interact with humans. Your work will involve developing systems for real-time control, perception, sensor fusion, motion planning, and inter-robot communication.
You will work closely with our mechanical, electrical, and UX teams to integrate your code into fully functional robots, ensuring seamless deployment to hardware and rapid iteration in the field.
Your expertise will be invaluable in tackling challenges related to computer vision, robotic middleware, and high-performance software development.
We're looking for someone who is passionate about innovation, has a strong background in software development, and is excited about the prospect of working on a groundbreaking project.
Key Responsibilities- Design and implement core software components for real-time control and high-level autonomy.
- Develop perception systems, including sensor fusion and motion planning.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate software with hardware.
- Write high-quality, production-ready code in C++, Python, or Rust.
- Leverage robotic middleware (ROS2, Zenoh, or custom solutions) to power communication and modularity.
- Apply test-driven development principles to ensure robustness in deployment.
- Deploy and validate software on hardware prototypes and production robots.
