Key Responsibilities- Treat water entering the plant to meet regulatory standards.
- Regulate water flow through stages of treatment.
- Use proper methods to treat water, monitor the plant for unclean water, and correct any problems as soon as possible.
- Ensure the proper execution of water treatment processes while complying with all safety requirements.
- Use appropriate chemicals to treat water and wastewater.
- Take samples and monitor water quality.
- Keep accurate records of all treatments and readings taken.
- Carry out routine maintenance on treatment equipment and report faults to engineers.
- Experience operating a treatment plant.
- Certificate III in Water Industry Operations or relevant experience.
- The ability to follow processes and procedures.
- An understanding of health and safety regulations.
- Observational skills and attention to detail.
- Demonstrated experience with SCADA including the ability to analyse trends.
- Knowledge about water treatment process, chemicals, filtration, and other aspects of water treatment.
- The ability to read and understand water treatment plant schematics, manuals, and other documents in order to carry out daily tasks.
- Requires knowledge of water chemistry, wastewater treatment process and plant operations.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
