About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Frontend Software Engineering Lead to join our team at Atlassian. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead and mentor our frontend engineers, drive technical excellence, and contribute to the development of world-class software products.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the design, implementation, and launch of scalable user interface systems that delight users. They will also collaborate closely with other engineers, designers, and managers to understand user pain points and iterate on great solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the frontend engineering team in designing and implementing high-quality, scalable, and fast client code
  • Plan, design, build, and implement scalable user interface systems that meet user needs
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand user requirements and develop effective solutions
  • Conduct code reviews, provide feedback, and ensure high coding standards
  • Mentor junior engineers to help them grow and develop their skills

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Extensive experience with modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React, AngularJS, Vue)
  • Strong understanding of modern frontend ecosystem, including bundling, linting, testing, and releasing
  • Experience with modern testing frameworks (e.g., Jest, Cypress, Mocha, Chai)
  • Strong comfortability with JavaScript language and ecosystem
  • Experience building frontend applications at scale
  • Experience mentoring more junior engineers

About You

You have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience. You are an excellent communicator, with strong leadership and problem-solving skills. You are passionate about writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code, and you strive to make a positive impact on the company.
