Senior Aerospace Engineer

Future Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance Systems Program Office (FISRSPO) is seeking two highly skilled engineers to join the AIR7001 MQ-4C Triton project.
The project is a first-of-type Un-crewed Aerial System (UAS) for the Australian Defence Force (ADF), in partnership with the United States Navy.
About the Role- This position will play a critical role in undertaking engineering activities across the airworthiness program for various acquisition tasks.
- The successful candidate will lead the development of engineering artefacts to support MQ-4C Triton Design Holder obligations and project transition milestones.
The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, a strong work ethic, and a drive to produce successful solutions. They will also be able to work independently, with minimal supervision, and demonstrate an innate ability to be creative in deploying and developing their technical skills.
About Our TeamFISRSPO is responsible for acquiring leading-edge ISR capability. The team comprises ADF, APS, and contracted personnel, committed to flexible work practices.
We are seeking candidates who are passionate about developmental technology, can apply novel engineering approaches, and are willing to work in a dynamic and diverse environment.
Key Responsibilities- Governance, assurance, and planning functions across the Aeronautical, Mechanical, and Airworthiness domains.
- Maintaining parts of the Engineering Management System, including reviewing, assessing, and making recommendations on engineering artefacts.
- Involvement in the Safety Risk Management Framework, analysing and proposing mitigations for any identified hazards.
- A relevant engineering qualification, such as a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering or a related field.
- Experience in aerospace engineering, preferably in the defence sector.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to learn, develop, and excel in the aerospace engineering environment.
