Industrial Relations Specialist

The Principal HR Advisor (Industrial and Employee Relations) role offers an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering important industrial and employee relations initiatives. You will support the negotiation of the new enterprise bargaining process for the Office and assist in managing communications and collaboration with a range of key stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide high-quality policy and strategic advice on industrial relations matters, including legislative frameworks and employment agreements.
• Support the negotiation, development, and implementation of enterprise bargaining agreements for all employee groups, engaging with relevant unions and employee representatives under the direction of the HR Manager.
• Provide expert advice to senior management on workforce relations issues with an emphasis on complex case management and employee wellbeing.
• Manage investigations, advisory activities, and develop strategies to resolve problems and manage health and safety risks.
• Undertake a leadership role to ensure managers and HR specialists are developed and trained in relation to case management and workforce relations.
• Prepare correspondence, briefing materials, and reports for senior leaders and staff on workforce relations issues.
• Conduct ongoing research and analysis of contemporary human resource practices and policies at a whole-of-government level.

• Collaborate with other team members, participate in meetings and training programs, and actively contribute to improvements in policy, procedure, and practice across the Office and stakeholder agencies.

• Adhere to the QO Code of Conduct and values, workplace health and safety legislation, confidentiality policies, and other relevant directives and legislation.
• Meet personal performance expectations and standards.
• Undertake other duties as directed by senior officers.
