This is an exceptional opportunity to provide high-quality legal advice and support as a Legal Officer or Senior Lawyer. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering expert legal guidance to staff involved in assessments, investigations, evaluations, reviews, and prevention activities.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver independent, timely, and accurate legal advice and guidance to staff.
- Prepare and assist in the preparation of reports, including investigation reports and general reports.
- Contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
- Instruct counsel in respect of examinations conducted pursuant to the ICAC Act.
The ideal candidate will have a degree in law or be eligible for admission as a legal practitioner in the Northern Territory. They should also possess excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
Essential Skills and Qualifications- Ability to provide legal advice in relation to criminal law, public law, and administrative law.
- Experience in advocacy.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and upholding integrity.
The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring integrity and accountability in public administration. They will contribute to preventing, detecting, investigating, and responding to improper conduct within government entities, local government councils, elected members, and organisations that receive funds from the government.
