Job Role Overview:

This role encompasses expert technical advice provision to various stakeholders on building work in Queensland. The Building Specialist will oversee a caseload, conduct investigations, and facilitate dispute resolution between contractors and consumers.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise to consumers, internal customers, and industry groups.
  • Conduct reactive and proactive technical examinations.
  • Mediate disputes between contractors and consumers.
  • Prepare technical reports and statements for disciplinary proceedings.
  • Contribute to operational planning activities.

Necessary Skills and Qualifications:

  • Mandatory: current builder's license, valid Driver's License, and good driving record.
  • High-level interpersonal, consultative, negotiation, and mediation skills.
  • Advanced investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
