Job Title: Cyber Security Engineer

About the Role

You will be responsible for designing, deploying, and maintaining security solutions that protect information assets. Your work will support risk management and security strategies, ensuring system and data integrity, confidentiality, and availability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement enterprise security solutions aligned with frameworks such as ISO 27001 and Essential Eight.
  • Design, document, implement and maintain procedures and controls to mitigate threats and meet compliance requirements.
  • Identify and remediate vulnerabilities across cloud and on-premise environments.
  • Conduct security risk assessments for new and existing platforms, recommending improvements.
  • Respond to security incidents (detect, contain, eradicate, recover, PIR analysis).
  • Develop and maintain knowledge base articles, playbooks, and security documentation.
  • Provide input on security requirements for vendor contracts, RFPs and SOWs.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in IT, Information Security, or a related field.
  • Industry certifications such as CISSP, SSCP, CCSP, CEH, Microsoft Security Suite.
  • 3+ years' experience in a cyber security engineering or related role.
  • Experience designing, implementing, and reviewing enterprise security solutions.
  • Strong understanding of security frameworks including ISO27001, Essential Eight, ASD ISM.
  • Skilled in assessing and managing cyber risks within enterprise environments.
  • Hands-on experience with security tools such as SIEM, SOAR, NDR, EDR, XDR, Microsoft suite.
  • Ability to stay updated across emerging threats and recommend proactive solutions.
  • Experience conducting security risk assessments and third-party assessments.
  • Strong communication skills, able to deliver security awareness training.
