IT Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced IT Specialist to join our team at Shangri-La The Marina, Cairns.

About the Role:

This is a permanent part-time position offering a flexible weekday schedule. As an IT Specialist, you will be responsible for providing technology support services on a day-to-day basis to all computer system users of the hotel.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure all computer system users adhere to system security guidelines
• Coordinate new user log on or access requirements in a timely manner
• Coordinate internal and external training requirements
• Have a sound and thorough knowledge of IT systems used in hotels including systems such as Opera and Infrasys
• Provide help desk and IT support to users ensuring appropriate access levels and permissions are assigned
• Work autonomously to prioritise and manage multiple cases and escalate faults as required
• Support the installation and configuration of computer operating systems, software applications, printers, copies, scanners and other IT devices
• Competently perform network/systems administrative functions including maintaining user accounts and monitoring the health of network equipment
• Maintain IT equipment inventory
• Troubleshoot system and network problems
• Conduct programmed hardware maintenance
• Responsible for ensuring equipment, consumables and other IT supplies are kept at PAR levels
• Monitor the network security to advise Senior Management of any breaches

Requirements:

• A strong background in IT systems and technologies
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• The ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
• A high level of technical expertise, particularly in relation to IT systems and networks
