We are seeking a key leader to provide strategic direction and vision for the general operations of our facility, as well as play a broader role within the YMCA and South Gippsland Shire Council.

About the Role

The Center Director will lead a multitude of business units, including Customer Care, Aquatic Safety, Stadium Sports, Operations, and Learn to Swim. You will be highly visible within the center and the local community, forming strong relationships and partnerships that add value to the business operations and ensure services meet the needs of our communities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and vision for the general operations of the facility
  • Lead a multitude of business units, including Customer Care, Aquatic Safety, Stadium Sports, Operations, and Learn to Swim
  • Form strong relationships and partnerships with the local community and other stakeholders
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Able to present the YMCA to the local community and provide leadership and vision for the facility and its staff
  • Able to work both independently and as part of the leisure team
  • An excellent oral and written communicator, able to work in partnership with the South Gippsland Shire Council team and other community groups
  • Self-motivated, able to engage staff and the community and drive business growth while maintaining assets under control
  • Organised and able to demonstrate ability to engage staff and improve business performance, with strong project management skills
  • Have strong general business and financial acumen
  • Foster a culture of safety at the facility and experience managing risk
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary package of $116,000 per annum, including superannuation, and access to a range of benefits, including free access to gyms, recreation, and aquatics centers across the state.
