Job Description

As an Orientation and Mobility Specialist, you will play a vital role in empowering individuals who are blind or have low vision to achieve their goals and live independently. Your primary objective will be to assess the ability of clients to travel safely and confidently within their desired community.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting thorough assessments to identify individual needs;
  • Developing and implementing personalized mobility programs that cater to diverse client requirements;
  • Providing expert guidance on the use of low vision aids and assistive technologies;
  • Collaborating with clients to establish and achieve their objectives through goal-oriented planning and evaluation.

The ideal candidate will possess approved qualifications in Orientation and Mobility as recognized by relevant professional bodies. You should also demonstrate strong communication skills, adaptability, and a willingness to learn and grow within this dynamic field.
