About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Oncology Pharmacist to join our team at Icon Group. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of our clinical trials and providing technical support to ensure an efficient, safe, and high-quality pharmacy service is provided to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and organize the supply of cancer care medications, including chemotherapy and immunotherapy, for patients in the day oncology unit.
  • Participate in clinical screening of cancer care medication orders and ensure compliance with Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines.
  • Dispense and supply medication and pharmacy products, maintaining accurate records and ensuring patient safety.
  • Oversee the setup of new clinical trials, including negotiations with sponsors and CROs.
  • Participate in the delivery of clinical trials, including dispensing, drug accountability, and preparation.
  • Develop and maintain key relationships with oncologists, nurses, and clinical trial staff.
  • Educate and counsel staff and patients on chemotherapy and clinical trial medications.
About You

We are looking for a registered pharmacist with Australian-based pharmacy experience, a team-oriented attitude, and a focus on delivering exceptional service and care to patients. You will have a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage your own workload effectively.

Requirements include:

  • Current Pharmacist registration with AHPRA.
  • Previous experience as a registered pharmacist in a hospital setting.
  • Previous experience in oncology and/or clinical trials (highly desired).
  • Demonstrated understanding of the principles of Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
  • Demonstrated understanding of the potential risks involved with handling hazardous substances.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems effectively and independently.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
