Aboriginal and Islander Education Program Facilitator

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Aboriginal and Islander Education Program Facilitator to join our team at Catholic Education Northern Territory.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide classroom support to help ensure that Aboriginal & Islander students can work effectively in classrooms and on school programs.
- Maintain an effective liaison with parents/carers to support their children as students of the school.
- Liaise with all people who provide support to Aboriginal & Islander students.
- Supervise students during activities, including homework centre supervision.
- Prepare light refreshments on homework days.
- Work with the Aboriginal & Islander Education Coordinator to promote Aboriginal & Islander celebration within the College.
- Liaise with staff and students between campuses.
- Demonstrated commitment to Catholic education.
- Demonstrated skills in cross-cultural communication.
- Able to relate to Aboriginal & Islander people when providing a liaison service.
- Ability to work with minimum supervision in the liaison role.
- Ability to work with teachers in delivering appropriate and challenging programs to Aboriginal & Islander students.
- Experience in providing a liaison service involving close contact with Aboriginal & Islander people.
- Knowledge of the range of Aboriginal & Islander cultures in the NT context.
- Higher education certificate.
The salary for this position is approximately $80,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience. The successful candidate will also receive a range of benefits, including professional development opportunities and a supportive work environment.
