Key Role: Data Analyst and Educator

The University of Sydney is seeking to appoint experts in data analysis and education to work in the Data Hub at the Charles Perkins Centre.

These positions involve working as a data statistician or analyst, teaching one day per week for the School of Mathematics and Statistics, and contributing to the development of the Data Hub's services.

  • Two full-time, 3-year fixed-term opportunities located on the Camperdown Campus.

As a key team member, you will be responsible for managing the administration of the Data Hub's services, collaborating with researchers on data-intensive biomedical and metabolomics health research projects, and leveraging statistical analysis, machine learning, and programming languages such as Python and R.

Our ideal candidate has expertise in data analysis, education, and communication, with excellent skills in teaching complex concepts to students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct in-depth data analysis and machine learning on large datasets.
  • Develop and implement new methods for data analysis and visualization.
  • Collaborate with researchers on data-intensive biomedical and metabolomics health research projects.
  • Teach one day per week for the School of Mathematics and Statistics.
  • Manage the administration of the Data Hub's services.
Requirements:
  • PhD in Statistics or a related field.
  • Expertise in data analysis, machine learning, and programming languages such as Python and R.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to teach complex concepts to students.
