About this role

We are seeking a talented Environment Project Officer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and experienced professional to make a real difference in the environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing programs and projects that support environmental outcomes in the Southern Gulf region. Key duties include managing natural resource management projects, building partnerships with industry groups and local governments, identifying funding opportunities, and providing advice on emerging issues and opportunities.

Key requirements

  • Tertiary qualifications in Agricultural or Environmental Science or related disciplines.
  • Demonstrated scientific/technical knowledge of natural resource management principles and procedures.
  • Experience in industry extension principles and practices, and successfully engaging with agricultural and land management sectors.
  • High level organisational skills, written and oral communication skills, and ability to work autonomously and as an effective team member.
  • Ability to develop and document innovative projects, identify funding opportunities, and set and deliver specific objectives.

What we offer

This is a full-time position (38 hours per week) based in Mt Isa. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a dynamic team and contribute to the success of the organisation.

Additional information

This position requires the ability to take initiative and work unsupervised, as well as travel throughout the region, including remote areas. Experience in four-wheel drive operation is advantageous.
