Secondary Design Engineer

As a member of our high-voltage infrastructure team, you will be responsible for delivering timely and accurate technical designs while supporting field staff, customers, and colleagues. The successful candidate will be able to produce precise designs required for secondary protection and control systems in the utility and renewable sectors.

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Secondary Design Engineer to join our engineering team in Melbourne. You will deliver complex internal and external secondary system design projects, checking outputs for accuracy and reliability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop secondary protection and control systems for high-voltage utilities and renewable energy projects
  • Collaborate with construction and operations teams to ensure practical and constructible designs
  • Develop and implement technical solutions to meet project requirements
  • Check and verify design outputs for accuracy and compliance with industry standards

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex secondary systems design projects
  • 7+ years experience in a similar role within Energy/Electrical utilities or renewable industries
  • High-level communication and stakeholder engagement skills
