The Role & Project

We are seeking experienced Mining Engineers to join our project teams on FIFO from Perth to various mine sites in Western Australia. We deliver surface mining projects in the Southwest, Pilbara, Goldfields, Murchison, and Wheatbelt regions.

Job Description:

  • Assist with mine scheduling and planning to meet both client requirements and MACA production rates.
  • Contribute to the development of mine plans, methods, design, materials handling, cost analysis, and other areas as required.
  • Ensure advanced mine design work is carried out accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Support contract management where necessary.
  • Produce and submit monthly progress claims effectively and on time.
  • Facilitate drill and blast activities on-site.
  • Participate in designing drill and blast patterns and ensure efficient and cost-effective processes are used.
  • Provide technical input into blasting activity planning and coordination.
  • Review drill and blast claims, sub-contractor claims, and drill and blast design.
  • Mentor graduate engineers and provide training to other personnel when required.
  • Foster professional relationships with key client contacts and site personnel.
  • Offer specialist technical input into team project work and assist in evaluating reserve resource estimates.
  • Liaise with management regarding available technology on heavy equipment on site.
  • Implement and review new technology on mining plant and equipment on site.

What You Need To Succeed

  • A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar role.
  • A Bachelor of Engineering (Mining Engineering) degree.
  • Solid knowledge of plant and equipment best practices and operational performance to meet production targets safely and efficiently.
  • Familiarity with the Mines & Safety Inspection Act and Regulations.
  • Demonstrated contractor mining experience with expertise in client interface and exceeding performance-based KPIs.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyse situations and show initiative while meeting deadlines.
  • A strong commitment to workplace safety.
  • A current driver's licence.
  • Capacity to plan and schedule activities and resources.
  • Advanced computer literacy with Microsoft Office suite experience.
