Highway and Roads Sector Leadership Opportunity

The Highway and Roads Sector Director is a strategic business leader responsible for driving growth and development in the highway and roads market sector.

This role requires a strong understanding of industry trends, challenges, and opportunities. The successful candidate will have experience in business development, leadership, and team management.

The primary responsibilities include:

  • Market leadership and business development
  • Staff development and recruitment
  • Support to Operations, including client management and project delivery

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in a similar role, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively with senior leaders and stakeholders.

A key aspect of this role is maintaining frequent and regular communication with region and area business group leadership to implement strategic growth plans and operating plans at the market sector level.

Additionally, the successful candidate will facilitate the development and implementation of business strategies in coordination with business group leadership, operational leadership, client managers, business class directors, and practice group leaders.

They will also maintain relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders, and promote HDR's brand and reputation in the industry.

Furthermore, they will provide coaching, guidance, and support to staff members to ensure their professional development and growth within the company.

The candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a closely related field and a minimum of 12 years industry experience, including leadership roles.

Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, as well as skills in client management, client development, and a documented history of growing/leading a practice.

The successful candidate will be able to analyze the marketplace and strategically position HDR.

Preferred qualifications include a minimum of 20 years experience in planning/engineering in highway design or bridge design, a Professional engineering license or equivalent, and current or past leadership positions within highway/road industry associations.

Location: Cleveland, AU

Salary Range: AU$180,000 - AU$300,000 per year
