Lead Teacher of Learning Support - Secondary School

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced teacher to join our school as a Lead Teacher of Learning Support in our Secondary Department. This is a full-time position, requiring strong leadership skills and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, and parents.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing learning support to students with disabilities and additional needs in a secondary school setting. This will involve developing and implementing individual education plans (IEPs) in consultation with teachers, as well as monitoring their effective implementation.

The Lead Teacher of Learning Support will also provide advice and support to teachers on matters related to specific disabilities, and oversee the accuracy of the NCCD reporting process. Additionally, they will be responsible for overseeing the implementation of specific learning support programs such as MACQLIT and STAMS, and collaborating with teachers to determine Life Skills placement and its implementation.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with disabilities and additional needs, and a comprehensive understanding of the DDA, DSE, NCCD, and IEPs. They will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and be able to build rapport and collaborate effectively with students, teachers, and parents.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • NESA Teacher Accreditation and valid WWCC;
  • Ability to build rapport and collaborate effectively with students, teachers, and parents;
  • Experience working with students with disability and additional needs;
  • A comprehensive understanding of the DDA, DSE, NCCD, and IEPs;
  • Commitment to and passion for excellence in Christian education;
  • Effective time management, organisation, and planning skills;
  • Specific qualification/s in learning support preferred;
