Job Description:

We are seeking a Senior Planning Consultant to join our team at proUrban Advisory, Planning & Management. This is a mid-senior level, full-time position in the Architecture and Planning industry.

About the Role:
  • This role involves providing planning services to property developers and landowners, including securing planning permits, development site identification, and facilitating planning scheme amendments.
  • You will work independently and alongside our directors to manage large-scale, complex development projects.

The ideal candidate will have a high standard of written and oral communication skills, be committed to applying a professional approach, and have excellent attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Working with clients to understand their objectives and tailoring solutions to enable achievement of agreed outcomes
  • Securing planning permits through application strategy, preparation, and management
  • Development site identification, including inputs to feasibility studies and pre-purchase planning due diligence
  • Facilitating planning scheme amendments, including developing strategic justification, document preparation, stakeholder engagement, and process management
  • Consultation, negotiation, and engagement with local communities and other stakeholders
Requirements:
  • A university degree in urban planning or a related discipline
  • Approximately 4-7 years' experience in the field of urban planning, including time in Victoria and a background in either the private or public sector
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills
