Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled SCADA and Control Systems Specialist to join our team at Brunel.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and reviewing control and communication systems, as well as collaborating with internal and external teams to meet company standards and specifications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and review of control and communication systems.
  • Review and interpret engineering drawings, documents, specifications, and scopes.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to meet company standards and specifications.
  • Attend and witness factory and site acceptance testing for SCADA and control systems.
  • Support commissioning and troubleshooting of automation systems and other applications as required.
  • Recommend and develop product and/or process changes to improve system performance or to better satisfy project or other stakeholder needs.
  • Review and analyze specified problems and issues to identify best practice solutions to meet project requirements.
  • Ensure quality control procedures are adhered to during various stages of project execution and appropriate quality documentation is populated.

Requirements

  • Electrical Control System experience in mining or power industry required.
  • Bachelor of Electrical, Electronics, Control Systems, or Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience with Substation Automation will be highly regarded.
  • Experience in designing, developing, and diagnosing RTU, HMI, SCADA, and network systems.
  • Ability to interpret control system requirements and create functional design specification (FDS).
  • Experience with Siemens A8000 or SEL RTAC RTU's and associated SCADA packages are highly regarded.
  • Experience with various control system controllers and SCADA packages.
  • Experience with industrial communication protocols such as Modbus, DNP3, IEC104, IEC61850.
  • Demonstrated ability in technical report and specification writing.
  • Good understanding of the balance between technical and commercial outcomes.
