Senior Consultant – Railway Telecommunications

We are seeking an experienced Senior Consultant to join our Rail Systems team in Perth. This role requires technical expertise and leadership skills in the field of Telecommunications systems that support railway mission-critical and business-critical applications.

  • This senior position involves leading the planning, execution, and technical review of complex railway telecommunications projects, ensuring alignment with client requirements and industry standards.
  • The successful candidate will deliver high-quality telecommunications solutions tailored to specific client needs, contributing to the development of long-term client relationships.
  • A key responsibility of this role is collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams including engineering, commercial, contract management, procurement, scheduling, and planning to ensure successful project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members on telecommunications technologies relevant to the rail sector, including IP/MPLS and 3GPP (4G/5G) networks.
  • Project Management: Oversee and review technical documentation, designs, and reports to ensure compliance with industry best practices and project specifications.
  • Client Engagement: Engage with clients, stakeholders, and equipment suppliers to ensure project requirements are clearly understood and addressed.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum 6 to 8 years of experience in consulting, with a strong background in railway telecommunications.
  • Direct experience with IP/MPLS and 5G equipment from major suppliers is highly valued.
  • Proven expertise in the deployment of 3GPP networks (4G, 5G) and IP/MPLS solutions within a railway environment is highly advantageous.
  • Strong leadership, coordination, and communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-quality, client-focused solutions within project timeframes and budgets.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and commitment to continuous improvement and innovation.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations, statutory requirements, and safety standards within the rail sector.
