Business Development Manager

AU008 Marsh Advantage Insurance Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled Business Development Manager to join their team in Melbourne. This exciting opportunity will allow the successful candidate to take on a challenging role, developing and maintaining client relationships, while contributing to the growth and profitability of the business.
About the Role
As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for managing and growing a book of business containing complex priority accounts. This includes acting as a trusted advisor to clients, pursuing new business development opportunities, and expanding and diversifying the mix of products and services held by clients. You will also be required to maintain a comprehensive understanding of personal accounts and coinciding business needs, as well as core team accounts, to ensure a strong handle on the portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
/ Maintaining and growing personal small-scale relationships and a small book of business
/ Contributing to personal or team sales targets while overseeing the portfolio of minor accounts held by a junior sales professionals
/ Coaching sales professionals on account management and expansion processes, intervening when necessary to offer guidance and prevent relationship losses
/ Conducting and analysing research to maintain a comprehensive understanding of personal accounts and coinciding business needs
/ Attending or participating in presentations or sales meetings for priority or at-risk team accounts to develop team capabilities
/ Identifying expansion opportunities for personal and team accounts, leveraging an advanced understanding of internal service and product offerings, market trends and developments, and the business standing of specific accounts
/ Defining the strategy for custom solution development for the team portfolio, communicating product and solution sales targets, compensation and pricing expectations
/ Attending and participating in industry events and conferences, client functions, and building up a strong professional network to represent the Company and its product offerings and solutions
Requirements
/ Strong experience within a commercial insurance and risk consulting environment
/ Insurance broker's license
/ Strong business acumen, including a well-rounded knowledge of general business function, finance, and issues
/ Good problem-solving skills
/ Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization, including the 'C' Suite
/ Strong organisational skills, prioritising work, multi-tasking, and consistently meeting deadlines

Salary Information
The estimated annual salary range for this position is between AU$120,000 - AU$180,000 depending on qualifications and experience.
