Role Overview

Aon is seeking a highly skilled Actuarial Analyst to join their team in AU. As an Actuarial Analyst, you will be responsible for performing and reviewing risk assessment and valuation of clients' portfolios.

About the Role at Aon

As a key member of the team, you will utilise significant expertise of all major catastrophe models to provide clients with a comprehensive view of their portfolio. Your responsibilities will include collecting, manipulating and interrogating client exposure and claim data in MS Excel or SQL to support analyses, utilising catastrophe modelling software to determine clients' exposure to catastrophe hazards such as earthquake, cyclone and bushfire, and producing perils catastrophe exposures and pricing of reinsurance structures to protect cedants.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collecting, manipulating and interrogating client exposure and claim data in MS Excel or SQL to support analyses.
  • Utilising catastrophe modelling software to determine clients' exposure to catastrophe hazards such as earthquake, cyclone and bushfire.
  • Producing perils catastrophe exposures and pricing of reinsurance structures to protect cedants.
  • Completing actuarial projects using techniques such as experience and exposure rating, and making use of stochastic modelling analyses.
  • Analysing clients' historical data to assess their exposure to future large non-catastrophe losses.
  • Using reinsurance optimisation techniques to determine reinsurance strategies that maximise the likelihood that clients can meet their financial goals.
  • Effectively communicating results to internal and external stakeholders using written reports and/or presentations.
  • Developing effective working relationships with internal and external clients.
  • Actively contributing to research and development ideas.
