Expert Software Developer for Golang Ecosystem

The role involves creating a seamless experience for developers and operators working with the Go programming language on Ubuntu. You will collaborate closely with a distributed team to select, integrate, and package best-of-breed tooling with Ubuntu.

  • Design and develop high-quality code to deliver new features
  • Collaborate with other teams to ensure architecture decisions improve overall performance and experience of Ubuntu
  • Mentor junior engineers and participate in code reviews and design reviews

Requirements:

  • Relevant Go experience, ideally in cloud-native software and Linux
  • Experience in packaging software for Debian and Ubuntu
  • Long-term familiarity with Linux systems
  • Exceptional academic record from high school and university
  • Technical undergraduate degree or compelling alternative narrative
