Our Team

We celebrate a 'One Team Culture' where diversity of thought and expression is key to delivering excellent results. Our team in Sydney is now looking for a recently graduated or early-career ecologist to work with the wider Ecology & Biodiversity team across New South Wales and Australia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply knowledge of NSW flora and fauna to assist senior ecologists in providing advice to clients, both in office and in field.
  • Participate in field survey programs to collect ecological data.
  • Support interpretation and application of environmental legislation to projects across various sectors.
  • Assist in preparing tenders and proposals, including development of budgets and resourcing plans.
  • Support the team in studies, analyses, interpretations, conclusions, and decisions, and prepare reports outlining findings.
  • Travel to remote areas to conduct field survey programs.

Requirements

  • Appropriate tertiary qualification in Science, Environmental Science, Environmental Management, Natural Resources, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of NSW flora and fauna.
  • Scientific or consulting report writing and computer skills.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • 1-2+ years' experience in an ecological role in the environmental consulting sector or an equivalent role in Government.
  • Experience in flora and fauna field surveys and monitoring programs.
  • Flora and fauna identification skills.
  • Knowledge of and training in the Biodiversity Assessment Method.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and manage multiple tasks.
  • Project management experience in relation to client management and budget control.
