Be a Companion for an Older Gentleman

We are seeking a friendly and compassionate individual to visit an older gentleman in Bega, providing companionship and social interaction. This is a great opportunity to make a meaningful difference in someone's life and enhance their quality of care.

This volunteer role involves visiting an older gentleman in his home on a weekly or fortnightly basis, engaging in conversation, and enjoying activities together such as having a cup of tea and chatting. The ideal candidate will be able to commit to this regular visitation for at least 6 months.

To be considered for this role, you must be at least 18 years old and have a National Volunteer Police Check arranged and paid for by HammondCare. You will also need to undergo a Working with Vulnerable People check.

As a volunteer in this role, you will have the opportunity to form a positive and meaningful relationship with an older gentleman, enhancing his quality of life and sense of connection to his community. Regular visits can help to improve his mental and emotional well-being, reducing feelings of loneliness and isolation.
