Horticultural Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Horticulturist to join our team at Wingecarribee Shire Council. As a Horticulturist, you will be responsible for carrying out horticultural and landscape maintenance and upgrades in streets, civic spaces, parks, and roadside gardens.

• Carry out horticultural and landscape maintenance and upgrades in streets, civic spaces, parks, and roadside gardens as assigned by the Team Leader or Supervisor.
• Deliver horticulture maintenance services to an agreed service level.
• Plan, schedule, and deliver horticulture maintenance programs.
• Ensure the safe use of plant and machinery within the industry.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of horticulture maintenance strategies.
• Collaborate with other teams to achieve operational service levels.

• Trade qualification in Horticulture and experience in horticulture maintenance or a related field.
• Practical knowledge and skills in horticulture maintenance services.
• Demonstrated skills in the horticulture maintenance of premier display gardens.
• A sound practical knowledge of the use of plant and machinery within the industry.
• Demonstrated ability to plan, schedule, and deliver horticulture maintenance programs.
• Strong practical experience and understanding of Workplace Health and Safety and Equal Employment Opportunity.
• Demonstrated intermediate computer literacy with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Current Light Rigid (LR) Driver's license (manual) and ChemCert AQF III.
