Job Description

We are seeking a talented Software Engineer II to join our Azure Networking team. As a key member of the team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of software services for networking scenarios.

The team continues to innovate across the stack, pushing new scale and features into the cloud and desktop platforms while transforming our infrastructure to meet the growing needs of our customers using our services.

You will work on unique and highly visible projects that will directly impact supporting the scale and pace needed for innovating on the requirements of various workloads.

Your responsibilities will include collaborating with stakeholders to determine user requirements, driving identification of dependencies, creating and implementing code, and leveraging subject-matter expertise to drive project plans and work items.

You will also act as a Designated Responsible Individual, guiding other engineers and developing and following playbooks to monitor system/product/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions.

  • Collaborates with appropriate stakeholders to determine user requirements for a scenario.
  • Drives identification of dependencies and the development of design documents for a product, application, service, or platform.
  • Creates, implements, optimizes, debugs, refactors, and reuses code to establish and improve performance and maintainability, effectiveness, and return on investment (ROI).
  • Leverages subject-matter expertise of product features and partners with appropriate stakeholders (e.g., project managers) to drive a workgroup's project plans, release plans, and work items.
  • Acts as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) and guides other engineers by developing and following the playbook, working on call to monitor system/product/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions, alerting stakeholders about status and initiates actions to restore system/product/service for simple and complex problems when appropriate.
