Requirements

  • A Certificate III, Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or Bachelor of Early Childhood Education (or equivalent)
  • A current Working With Children Check or ability to obtain one
  • A First Aid Certificate including training in asthma and anaphylaxis

Essential Skills and Attributes:
- Ability to create a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all children
- Understanding of developmental milestones and needs of children in various age groups
- Capability to design, implement, and evaluate developmentally appropriate programs
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to liaise with children, parents, and colleagues
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a diverse team
- Adaptability to meet the changing needs of an early childhood setting

Desirable Skills and Knowledge:
- Familiarity with the national early learning framework for children from birth to five years
- Understanding of standards and assessment processes to ensure quality service
- Respect and understanding of diverse cultures, families, and individual children's needs
- Proficiency in using computers and relevant software to document children's learning and development
- Previous experience as an Educator, Assistant Educator, Childcare Assistant, or similar
