Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mining Engineer to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for a professional with a strong background in mine engineering to contribute to the success of our operations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support to our mining operations, including managing day-to-day activities, mentoring junior engineers, and coordinating the scheduling of underground mobile equipment.

In addition, they will be required to monitor the performance of contractors, review established processes and standards, and ensure QAQC of explosives charging practices.

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires excellent planning, analytical, and problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on safety, a proven track record of delivering results, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and drive mine production activities
  • Mentor junior national engineers
  • Monitor contractor performance
  • Review established processes and standards
  • Ensure QAQC of explosives charging practices
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering
  • 6 years plus of underground hard rock mining experience
  • Prior experience working in PNG
  • Experienced with Deswik 3D modelling software
  • Ability to analyze numerical and geographical data
  • Well-developed planning and organizational skills
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Sound planning, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and autonomously
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
  • Strong active listening and interpersonal skills
  • Actively promotes a safe and healthy culture
