About the Role
- Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor junior and intermediate staff in tax compliance, financial analysis, and strategic advice.
- Oversee Business Activity Statements (BAS), Goods and Services Tax (GST), Pay As You Go (PAYG), and corporate tax compliance.
- Prepare and review tax returns for individuals, companies, trusts, and partnerships.
- Conduct financial analysis, forecasting, and reporting to drive business growth.
- Liaise with clients via email to answer queries, acquire documents, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality outputs.
- Requirements:
- Must-Haves:
- At least 7 years of experience in Australian public practice.
- 2+ years in a leadership or review capacity.
- Strong knowledge of Australian tax law, AASB standards, and compliance requirements.
- Confident in using Xero, Excel, MYOB, QuickBooks, and tax tools.
- Exceptional attention to detail and efficiency.
- Nice-to-Haves:
- Experience with FYI Docs or similar Document Management Systems (DMS).
- A natural mentor with a warm and approachable style.
- Experience across various industries and client sizes.
- A long-term mindset and excitement for future leadership opportunities.
