Support Worker Role

This role involves providing person-centered support to enable participants to live independently, make informed choices, and participate fully in their communities.

As a Support Worker, you will be responsible for:

  • Providing daily living support, including personal care, meal preparation, and domestic tasks;
  • Assisting with community access, encouraging social participation and inclusion;
  • Implementing individualized support plans and behavior support plans;
  • Managing health and safety risks, promoting participant well-being and independence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Health and Wellbeing: Encourage participants' ongoing safety and developmental wellbeing;
  • Assistance with Daily Living Tasks: Support healthy meal preparation, domestic chores, and day-to-day household tasks;
  • Community Access: Support community participation and promote positive interactions and inclusion;
  • Personal Care Needs: Assist with showering, shaving, toileting, and other personal care tasks;
  • Maintain Positive Relationships: Develop and maintain professional relationships with participants and others present in their lives.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Commitment to person-centered care and supporting individuals with disabilities;
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team;
  • Willingness to complete assigned training for personal and professional development.
