About the Opportunity

Cabonne Council is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Road Maintenance Team Leader to join their Transport Infrastructure Team in Orange.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the facilitation and supervision of team operations to ensure the timely delivery of a quality Road Maintenance service within the Cabonne shire.

The role involves working closely with a supportive and proactive leadership team to ensure the delivery of Council's maintenance works programs and specified standards.

The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to a team-based approach, reliability, and punctuality, with the ability to work in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the supervision and participation in road maintenance activities, including monitoring staff performance and providing on-the-job instruction.
  • Facilitate and carry out roadside litter collection and environmental checks.
  • Operate plant and equipment in a safe and competent manner.
  • Follow up customer requests and assist with the implementation and administration of Council's Road Management Plan.
  • Prepare for works, including arranging materials and resources.
  • Set out and establish worksites and road works in accordance with relevant legislative guidelines and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Construction Induction Certification (White Card).
  • Class C drivers' licence.
  • Current Implement Traffic Control Plans and Traffic Controller Certification.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to understand and follow detailed written and verbal instructions.
  • Demonstrated commitment to a team-based approach, reliability, and punctuality, with the ability to work in a team environment.
