We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate senior anaesthetist to join our team. As a key member of the department, you will be responsible for providing expert anaesthetic care across a range of surgical specialties.
About the RoleThis is an excellent opportunity to work in a busy district hospital with 125 beds, 3 operating theatres, and an endoscopy room. The hospital handles a wide surgical caseload, including general surgery, orthopaedics, gynaecology, urology, and smaller volumes of paediatric and adult ENT, dental, and ophthalmology cases.
The anaesthetic department comprises under 10 anaesthetists working various fractions, supported by 2 senior resident medical officers handling preadmission, labour ward analgesia, and acute pain. The department plans to become a training site for ICU, GP anaesthetist, and ANZCA trainees.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert anaesthetic care across a range of surgical specialties.
- Work closely with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure the highest standards of patient safety and comfort.
- MBBS degree and registration or eligibility for registration with AHPRA.
- FANZCA or equivalent qualification recognised by the Australia and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists, and registrable with AHPRA as a Specialist in Anaesthetics.
