About the Procurement Role

The Procurement Specialist plays a key role in driving business value through the development and implementation of procurement strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the primary point of contact for procurement enquiries, supporting and training users on systems.
  • Source, evaluate, and manage suppliers, running RFx processes, negotiating contracts, and securing favourable terms.
  • Partner with stakeholders to manage budgets, control costs, monitor supplier performance, and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Assess and mitigate procurement risks while ensuring compliance with policies, regulations, and best practices.
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships and analyse supplier markets to support strategic procurement planning.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • 3-5 years' experience in procurement (Procurement Officer or Category Specialist level).
  • Background in aged care, medical services, or a similar commercial environment.
  • Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
  • Sound knowledge of procurement processes, regulations, and best practices.
  • Experience using Coupa, ARM, or similar procurement systems.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
  • Strong financial acumen, commercial awareness, and customer focus.
  • Analytical thinker with the ability to interpret data and assess supplier performance.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder relationship management.
  • Problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and strong organisational skills to manage competing priorities.
