Warehouse Operations Supervisor

We are a fast-growing wholesale bakery renowned for producing high-quality, handcrafted pies.

This is a hands-on leadership role ideal for someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment, takes initiative, and leads by example. The Warehouse Leading Hand plays a pivotal part in overseeing the day-to-day operations of our warehouse and dispatch area.

The Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and support a warehouse team of 3-4 staff, ensuring seamless communication and collaboration.
  • Oversee incoming and outgoing stock, order preparation, and dispatch, maintaining efficient workflows and accurate stock handling.
  • Maintain accurate stock levels through regular stocktakes, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions.
  • Ensure the warehouse meets strict food safety standards and cleanliness requirements.
  • Liaise with delivery drivers, suppliers, and production staff to ensure smooth operations.
  • Assist in enhancing warehouse systems and processes to drive efficiency and productivity.
  • Contribute to a positive, safe, and productive team environment, fostering open communication and mutual respect.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience in warehousing and dispatch is essential, with a proven track record of supervising staff and managing day-to-day operations.
  • Knowledge of food handling and warehouse hygiene requirements is preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills are crucial, along with basic computer literacy for stock and order tracking.
  • Physical fitness and hands-on experience are highly valued, as well as a forklift licence or general warehouse equipment experience.
