This role presents an opportunity to make a positive impact as a dedicated professional working with the Department of Communities and Justice.

The position involves collaborating across various locations, including Bega, Batemans Bay, Queanbeyan, Cooma, Goulburn, and Yass. This will enable you to engage sensitively and respectfully with parents, family members, children, or young people while also collaborating effectively with other agencies and tackling complex challenges.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing safety plans and conducting thorough risk assessments.
  • Managing cases and situations, including high-needs and high-risk clients and their families.
  • Being involved in court processes, including preparing court documents and attending proceedings.

As a Child Protection Caseworker, it is essential to possess confidence, curiosity, and resilience. The necessary qualifications and skills include:

  • A relevant degree, such as Social Work, Social Science, or Welfare, accompanied by practical experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability to establish strong working relationships.
  • A valid driver's licence (P1 or above).
  • A paid working with children clearance number.
