About the Role

Currie & Brown is seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our Brisbane office. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading projects to achieve exceptional service delivery, successful outcomes for our clients, and capturing and sharing knowledge across projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing feasibility studies and writing procurement reports.
  • Lead the preparation of cost plans, including measurement and pricing, and present cost plans to stakeholders.
  • Manage the procurement process, ensuring effective execution of all stages, from pre-qualification to contract preparation.
  • Ensure accurate preparation of cost plans, reports, and valuations, including checking work by others.
  • Produce accurate monthly post-contract cost reports and present them to clients.
  • Estimate and agree post-contract variations and monthly valuations.
  • Undertake value engineering to optimize project costs.
  • Negotiate and conclude final accounts.
  • Take a lead role in interfacing with clients and other consultants at all project stages.
  • Provide support to assistant cost managers and ensure they deliver on accountabilities.
  • Supervise and mentor junior team members.

Requirements

  • BSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
  • Membership of a recognized institution, such as RICS, API, Property Council, or UDIA.
  • Pre- and post-contract experience on Healthcare projects is highly desirable.
  • CostX experience is essential.
  • Experience in both private and public works is preferred.
  • Experience in working with JCT forms of contract.
  • Good technical writing, client-facing, and communication skills.
  • Well-organized, diligent, proactive, assertive, well-disciplined, and commercially astute.
  • A team player with a 'can-do' attitude, outgoing, polite, patient, diplomatic, personable, respectful, and flexible.
