About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Shaft Superintendent to join our team at Webuild S.p.A. for the Snowy 2.0 project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, organize, lead, and control site operations to ensure compliance with the construction program.
  • Provide consistency in safety, cost, time, quality, environmental, and community targets.
  • Supervise team members and work closely with safety and other departments to maintain project safety standards.
  • Lead and manage teams to achieve project objectives.
  • Monitor construction progress versus forecasts and advise the Construction Manager of deviations or variances.
  • Identify and resolve IR/ER issues and escalate serious issues to the Construction Manager and IR Manager.
  • Develop a teamwork culture to ensure site teams cooperate well with each other and integrate effectively with the wider project teams.
Requirements
  • Trade or qualification in Mechanical Engineering/Civil Engineering.
  • White Card.
  • Experience working on large-scale construction projects or other suitable projects.
  • A minimum of 10-15 years of specific experience working as an Equipment and Plant Manager in a tunnel project.
Competencies
  • Ability to supervise team members and work closely with safety and other departments.
  • Positive attitude and ability to lead and manage teams.
  • Sound knowledge of civil construction materials and services.
  • Sound knowledge of local WHS standards and regulations.
  • Process-oriented and able to analyze complex issues.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Sound interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Ability to work to deadlines and targets and prioritize tasks under pressure.
  • Sound negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong initiative and proactive nature.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Well-developed time management skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Competent and proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and Word.
About the Project

The Snowy 2.0 project is a large-scale pumped hydro scheme located in the Snowy Mountains in NSW. The project will deliver one of the largest pumped hydro schemes in the world and is a key part of the Future Generation Joint Venture's (FGJV) portfolio.
