Portside Christian College is seeking an Early Childhood Educator to join its vibrant team.

The ideal candidate will have a Certificate III or Diploma of Early Childhood qualification and be able to provide a quality early childhood program from a biblical perspective.

Key Responsibilities
  1. To design and implement an emergent play-based curriculum that fosters social and emotional development, language skills, problem-solving abilities, and foundational literacy and numeracy.
  2. To work collaboratively with staff, families, and allied professionals to create a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children.
  3. To plan, implement, and evaluate educational programs that support holistic child development, ages 3 to 5.
  4. To engage in reflective learning teams exploring Reggio Emilia approaches and nature pedagogy.

Interpersonal Skills:

  1. Strong Christian faith and commitment to personal values.
  2. Excellent public relations skills for maintaining partnerships and relationships.
  3. Able to work cooperatively as a team member within the Centre and across the College community.
  4. Demonstrated innovation in designing educational programs aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework (v2).
  5. Ability to document children's learning through various methods.
  6. Enthusiasm and self-motivation.
  7. Integrity, responsibility, respect, and innovation in all aspects of the role.

Management Skills:

  1. Effective time management and coordination of responsibilities for smooth operation.
  2. Active supervision and support for child safety and care.
  3. Adherence to human resources policies and practices.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential Requirements:

  1. Minimum Certificate III of Early Childhood Education and Care.
  2. Current First Aid Certificate, including Anaphylaxis and Asthma training (HLTAID012).
  3. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in early childhood services.
  4. Working knowledge of regulations, standards, frameworks, and codes.
  5. Desirable: Inclusion Support experience and current Working with Children Check (WWCC).

  6. Knowledge of National Quality Framework (NQFv2), regulations, and standards.
  7. Highly effective communication skills.
  8. Contribute positively to a Professional Learning Team.
