Job Summary

Programmed Skilled Workforce is seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic to join our team as a Field Service Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and support to our clients in the field.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and Repair Complex Issues

Diagnose and complete complex repairs to engines at the customer's site, utilizing your technical expertise and knowledge of engine systems.

  • Perform Preventative Maintenance

Perform preventative maintenance activities as per documented schedules and standards on engine and related components in the field, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.

  • Escalate Issues and Provide Support

Evaluate and escalate unresolved issues to more experienced Field Service Technicians and/or Supervisor, providing technical guidance and support as needed.

  • Document and Record Work

Complete required documentation, such as service worksheets, timesheets, warranty claims, quality documents via handwritten forms or business system input screens, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.

  • Identify Additional Service Opportunities

Identify additional service opportunities with customers, providing recommendations for maintenance and repair services to enhance their operations.

  • Maintain Service Vehicle and Tools

Maintain service vehicle and tools for cleanliness and proper operation, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.

Requirements
  • Australian Recognized Trade Certificate

Australian recognized Trade certificate (heavy or light vehicle) is required for this role.

  • Technical Experience and Knowledge

Experience providing technical advice and coaching to more junior technicians is preferred, as well as knowledge of engine rebuild and reconditioning.

  • Industry-Specific Experience

Cummins, Hitachi, Komatsu & Liebherr experience is highly desirable, as well as significant field service work experience.

  • Locally Valid Driving Permit

A locally valid driving permit is required for this role.
