Job Title

A high-impact leadership role is available for a strategic and dynamic leader to oversee waste operations, cleansing services, and customer service performance.

The position leads the delivery of Council's waste operations and cleansing services, overseeing major contracts, operational staff, and customer service performance. The successful candidate will drive continuous improvement and innovation in waste and cleansing services while ensuring alignment with legislative and environmental responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the strategic planning and delivery of waste collection, disposal, and cleansing services.
  • Manage significant contractor relationships and performance.
  • Ensure strong customer service focus across all waste and cleansing functions.
  • Oversee budget management, operational planning, and compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Drive continuous improvement and organisational development within the team.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications and/or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
  • Proven experience in leading multidisciplinary teams and managing industrial workforces.
  • Strong financial acumen and budget management capability.
  • Strategic planning skills across operational and environmental functions.
  • Experience managing complex contracts and delivering service excellence.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, stakeholder engagement, and leadership skills.
