About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Design Engineer – Underground Lines to join our team at Energy Queensland. As an underground powerline design expert, you will be responsible for providing expert and specialized design services for internally designed and constructed underground assets.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert and specialized underground powerline design services for internally designed and constructed underground assets.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary design production to meet project, safe design, and estimate completion objectives.
  • Lead a team of engineers and designers in the development of complex underground lines, cables, and systems for sub-transmission and distribution networks.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure safe and efficient design practices.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with customers and stakeholders.
About You

We are looking for an engineer who possesses a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, acceptable for membership of Engineers Australia in the Professional Engineering category. You should also be a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) in the field of electrical engineering, with competency to complete underground design works.

  • Expert technical knowledge and experience in the design principles and practices construction, and maintenance required for transmission, sub-transmission, distribution and communication lines engineering.
  • Ability to lead a team, providing technical leadership, support, and guidance for the development of others.
