The opportunity

Our Undergraduate Vacation Studentships offer promising undergraduate students the chance to participate in real-world projects, collaborate with leading researchers and experience world-class facilities.

Participation in a vacation studentship provides access to real-world experience that can give insights into future study and career directions. Many previous participants have gone on to pursue a PhD and build a successful research career.

Project details

Our team is looking for a student to assist with re-implementing a database application using modern tools and frameworks. The database is hosted from a MSSQL Server.

Relevant skills and qualifications include Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or similar.

Supervision will be provided by an experienced researcher.

Location: Melbourne VIC

Duration: 8-12 weeks between November and February

Eligibility criteria include being enrolled in an undergraduate course at an Australian tertiary institution and having completed at least one year of full-time equivalent study.

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or similar
  • Strong academic record (credit average or higher)
  • Interest in pursuing a research career in science or technology
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
