About the Job: We're seeking a Casual Kitchen Attendant to join our talented team at HOTA, Home of the Arts. As a Kitchen Attendant, you'll be working closely with our world-class chefs to deliver exceptional cuisine to our guests.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:

  1. Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen, including washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment.
  2. Supporting the team with stock management, including checking off and properly storing incoming stock.
  3. Assisting with food preparation tasks, including assisting with basic food preparation tasks under the guidance of a senior team member.
  4. Following safety and cleanliness protocols, ensuring a safe and hygienic kitchen environment at all times.
  5. Assisting kitchen staff with various tasks as needed, ensuring smooth kitchen operations during service.
  6. Organising and managing kitchen equipment, ensuring it's clean, safe, and in proper working order.
  7. Assisting with waste management, including proper disposal and recycling of waste.
  8. Assisting with stock rotation to ensure the freshness and quality of ingredients used in our dishes.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a Kitchen Attendant or similar role (preferred but not required).
  • A good understanding of food safety standards and relevant legislation.
  • Experience working safely with kitchen equipment and utensils.
  • Knowledge of manual handling techniques to safely lift and carry kitchen items.
  • Strong attention to detail and a willingness to work hard in a fast-paced environment.
  • A positive attitude, strong communication skills, and the ability to work as part of a team.
