Job Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Water Engineer to join our Planning and Asset Management Team. This role will offer an exciting opportunity to contribute to important water infrastructure projects in Australia and New Zealand.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering a variety of dam safety and water resources projects, including:

  • Delivering dam safety management systems and emergency plans;
  • Conducting dam safety reviews and risk assessments;
  • Assessing dambreak and consequence category risks;
  • Undertaking hydrology studies;
  • Developing water resource planning studies.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a consulting environment, delivering projects as part of a multi-disciplinary team. They will also have strong communication skills, the ability to influence and drive successful project outcomes, and a passion for developing and motivating others.

A technical qualification in civil engineering or a closely related discipline is required, along with proficiency in industry-standard hydraulic, hydrologic, structural, geotechnical, and GIS software.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver dam safety and water resources projects to high standards;
  • Collaborate with colleagues to achieve project goals;
  • Provide excellent client service and build strong relationships;
  • Mentor and develop junior staff members;
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices.
Requirements
  • Relevant qualifications in civil engineering or a closely related discipline;
  • Significant experience in bulk water supply infrastructure (including dams, major pipelines and pumping stations), major stormwater infrastructure and surveillance of concrete and embankment dams;
  • Understanding of risk management and the ability to identify project risks, design-related risks and major infrastructure risks;
  • Experience managing small to medium engineering design projects;
  • Commitment to working safely and within the company's HSEQ systems;
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to collaborate across a multidisciplinary team;
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills for engaging with a broad range of audiences;
  • Willingness to travel occasionally as required.
