Air Operations Specialist

At People in Focus, we are seeking an experienced Import Air Operations Specialist to join our team in Botany. As an Import Airfreight Coordinator, you will be responsible for the end-to-end processing of Import Air shipments. To be successful in this role, you must have previous experience working with a freight forwarder in Australia, in import airfreight operations. CargoWise experience is highly desired.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Job registration and monitoring of cargo availability and status
- Coordinating airport retrieval to bond store and cargo automation
- Organising and lodging underbond movement requests and finalising invoices to clients, overseas offices, and third parties
- Collection and handover of delivery orders and following up of delayed or short landed freight
- Pro-active in updating customers on the progress of their shipments and liaising with airlines, freight forwarders, overseas offices, customers, suppliers, and internal staff
Requirements:
- Import air operations experience within a freight forwarding environment
- CargoWise, ICS, and Company experience highly desired
- Computer literacy in MS Word and MS Excel
- Good problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and accurate data entry skills
- Excellent communication skills - both written and verbal
- Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines and be a team player
