About the Role

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Property and Assets Assessor to join our team at Haven Home Safe. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for inspecting and providing condition assessments on our owned and managed property assets, ensuring they meet the needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct scheduled property condition inspections to accurately determine medium and long-term maintenance requirements for our properties.
  • Travel to inspection sites, including some overnight stays and out-of-hours work, to ensure thorough assessments.
  • Perform initial assessments and provide property advice, seeking guidance from specialists, contractors, and tradespeople as needed.
  • Maintain accurate records of work activities, adhering to legislative, information security, and privacy policies.
  • Oversee the timely completion of scheduled property rectification works and provide regular progress reports.
  • Audit the quality and accuracy of completed works on-site.
  • Prepare schedules of works, proposals, and other specialized documents or presentations.
Requirements
  • Extensive experience in tenancy and property management or a building-related trade.
  • Knowledge of Asset Management systems and the Social Housing Sector.
  • Full Victorian driver's license is essential, with the ability to travel and accommodate out-of-hours work.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • High level of diplomacy, problem-solving skills, and relationship-building capacity.
  • Proven administration skills, including scheduling inspections, report writing, and managing documentation for activities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively within a team, in person and virtually.
  • Understanding of confidentiality requirements in handling client and agency information.
  • Willingness to adapt to changing work arrangements as required.
