About the Role
The University of Notre Dame Australia is seeking to appoint senior academic instructors in medicine to undertake the role of group tutors in the foundation years of the Doctor of Medicine program based at the Darlinghurst Site of the National School of Medicine, Sydney.
This role involves facilitating problem-based learning tutorials, clinical debriefing tutorials, and clinical and communication skills training sessions. The successful candidate will be responsible for participating in assessment and evaluation activities, attending meetings and professional development sessions, and providing a high level of pastoral care to students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Facilitate Problem-Based Learning (PBL) Tutoring, Communication and Clinical Skills sessions, Clinical Debriefing sessions, and other learning opportunities.
- Participate in assessment and evaluation activities including marking and providing feedback in collaboration with the Assessments team.
- Attend meetings and professional development sessions as required by the Head of Foundation Years and the School.
- Provide a high level of pastoral care to students.
Salary Information
We offer a competitive salary package in the range of $90,000 - $120,000 per annum, plus 14.25% superannuation.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a medical qualification registrable with AHPRA and a Fellowship of a relevant professional body or a PhD in a relevant discipline. You will also need to have experience in teaching at master's level or higher, or in medical, health, or professional practice-based education settings.
You will need to demonstrate a high level of interest in medical education, experience in teaching in small group tutorials, and the ability to deliver quality learning and teaching practices in multiple modes including online delivery.
